Dev tools, Erik Smith
Tools I build for myself. Scratching itches, shipping things.
NitrousToken
Real-time token quota gauges for every AI tool you run. When you're running 5 to 10 AI services daily, quota limits are invisible until you slam into them mid-task. I needed one place in the menu bar instead of 10 browser tabs.
- 10 service integrations, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, Gemini, Mistral, xAI, Perplexity, Meta, Cohere, and Copilot
- 6 themes from Asphalt to Burnout, each verified at WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios
- Burn rate forecasting shows days remaining and projected exhaust date per service
- Cursor auth is zero-config, reads local SQLite without an API key
Ignus
A menu-bar control plane for local AI image & 3D generation. Ignus started as a one-button launcher for local AI backends. It's now a full generation control plane, with the heavy image→3D work pushed to a second CUDA machine.
- The Forge (menu-bar): Pick a preset, write positive and negative prompts, run the Style Wizard, set size / steps / cfg, and fire it at ComfyUI.
- The Toolbox (network cockpit): Sees every machine on the LAN, which backend is up, what models and LoRAs are installed, and links the Mac to the PC Forge.
- The Worker (PC dashboard): The CUDA machine's lean surface: GPU / VRAM at a glance, backend status, the current image→3D job, and recent GLB / STL outputs.
Kallisti
A menu-bar job radar that scores every role against where you're actually headed. I was job hunting while working full-time, and good roles kept going stale before I got to them. Kallisti watches in the background and scores each new role against my actual profile.
- AI briefing built in. One click opens a role briefing session with the full job context already loaded
- Drift scoring surfaces roles that match your trajectory, not just your keywords
- Menu bar only, no dock icon. Present when you need it, gone when you don't
- File-watcher architecture so the radar runs in background and the UI updates live when new roles land
